Local indie rock trio Feed Your Head is unarguably the band you need to check out this week. Providing an ultra-wavy acid folk rock groove alongside a bout of trippy lyricism, this power trio knows the ins and outs of tuning in and turning on everyone in the room. Laura Carver delivers a hauntingly sanguine melody that resonates over the anesthetic drive of Joe Barron’s bass supremacy and Fraser Wills’ fleeting drum work. Together the three weave a hypnotic wall of sound that encapsulates the less explored areas of sentiment and cognition, all while elusively immersing any listener into a realm of total psychedelic subsistence.
Feed Your Head released an eight-song album, Waning With The Moon, in March of 2015. If that beautiful piece isn’t enough to quench your Feed Your Head fix, the group has an upcoming gig at Memory Lanes in Minneapolis on February 12th. The show is entitled “Anything Goes”, and features four bands from four different genres. Feed Your Head will be the ambassadors of indie rock, while Swimsuit Area will represent punk, Dream of the Wild takes rap, and Tom Ayden owns psychedelic acoustic. If you fail to catch a glimpse of Feed Your Head in their all-righteous musical action, then you have failed at life.
